Conjunctions

Basically conjunctions join words, phrases or sentences  that's why we also say linking words. To make easy we can divide connectors in groups and learn systematically.

Conj of Reason. (always used in starting of a sentence).
As, Since, Due to, Owing to, Because of, these all are used to give a reason.

As I have fever I can not attend classes.
Since I have fever I can not attend classes.
Due to fever I can not attend classes.
Because of fever I can not attend classes.
Owing to fever I can not attend classes.

Conj of result. (always used in middle of a sentence).
So, Thus, Hence, Therefore.                        

I have severe leg pain so am not able to run.
I have severe headache thus would not come to seminar.
We are not sincere in preparation for exams hence face failures.
They meet failures often therefore overcome easily also learn from mistakes.

Conj for adding information.
And, Also, In addition to, Furthermore, Moreover. (these come in between of the sentence).

I have taken a job and in part time am studying to complete my degree.
I am completing my degree also work to support family.
In addition to my job am studying to make myself eligible for better opportunities.
I have taken a job furthermore trying to complete my degree for satisfaction.
Job is presently supporting me moreover am studying for my future.

Conj for contradiction.
However, Though, Although, even though, despite of, instead of mostly used in the beginning of a sentence).

Though she is bed ridden from a few years she has not changed a little bit.
However ill she has been yet not changed little bit.
Although she is suffering from ill health she has not changed little bit.
Even though she has suffered from illness past years none can say she has changed!
Despite of her health problems we can find no changes in her nature.

An adverb is a word that modifies a verb, (also many a times an adjective), determiner, noun phrase, clause, or sentence. Adverbs typically express manner, place, time, frequency, degree, level of certainty, etc., answering questions such as how?, in what way?, when?, where?, and to what extent?. Having a thorough knowledge of adverbs helps in mastering our expressions in an impressive manner thus making our language sound. mostly we have a wrong idea that adverbs end in "ly". Here I would like to mention a thing which maybe a confusing element. Adjectives seem to be the past tense form of a verb many a times and also verb+ing form but you need not get confused as the position of an adjective differs from a verb and meaning as well. The usage should be clear not the forms.

Mostly in schools unfortunately memorizing gets more importance and students completely ignore learning through own efforts. The syllabus also is heavy thus not much quality time is left to explore their own potentials, then how one would have confidence to apply knowledge practically? In this blog I would like to teach some basic easy things to make my learners confident in expressing their ideas. The very essential thing is to frame sentence accurately and use verbs to help in proper expressions. Here we would see some very frequently used verbs.

Verbs have capturing effects if used appropriately according to the context. For example we would take the verb Think.

Think, Ponder, Reflect, Consider, Brood all have though similar meanings yet create a lasting impact on mind when used accurately.

Think is used generally.
Think before doing anything well.
Consider is used when we need to pay attention for the second time.
I hope you would consider my petition.
Ponder is used when we need to think deep especially before deciding anything.
He pondered nearly over a few hours before finally accepting the proposal.
Reflect is used when we have to think deep and with a seriousness.
His face was serious due to the situation, all the members learnt to reflect from this incident.
Brood is used when we think in a sad manner.
She could not stop brooding over her husband demise even after months.

Everywhere a different situation is demanding a suitable expression thus the use of synonyms is very important. Also to make communication effective the knowledge of good verbs has it's own impact on the listeners. It makes communication lively and creates a good impression.

Today again a new verb for my enthusiastic learners who though eager to gain knowledge seem little reluctant in spending time in reading unlike us. Reading is a very good way to improve language without any stress or unwanted fears for communication skills.

Eat is used generally and easily it comes to our mind too.
Eat early in night especially before 2 hours.
Consume can be used commonly for solid as well liquid items.
He consumed poison as his daughter married despite strong oppositions.
Take and Have are used when we offer someone something directly.
Take juice before going to bed.
Have liquid items before sleeping.
Dine can be used to convey the same meaning when the group is large.
Today would you be able to dine with us?
Gobble is used when we have to eat something in hurry without much time.
Before leaving for college usually I gobble some fruits.

Sit is always used generally by all.
Sit properly and be alert mentally.
When we sit with folded legs and feet touching thigh, Squat is suitable.
Usually in relaxed mood and while doing yoga we prefer to squat.
For birds we use Perch.
The birds perched and chirped in the evening on the nearby trees caught my attention .
Rest is used for heavy bodied animals.
The elephants rested after grazing and enjoyed the company of babies around.
